When You Give You Receive

"When You Give You Receive" is a simple concept. It basically means that what you give, you get in return.

This does not mean that if I give a bicycle one day, I will get a bicycle back the next. There are benefits to giving that transcend the material.

When you give, you realize that you have that specific thing to give. Giving away money is an act of knowing that you have money to give. It creates more money in your life thereafter. When you know at your core that you have something, it comes to you in abundance. Pure knowing, creates pure having. This is the key.

Be sure, however, that if you give in order to receive, you won't get what you expect. It is a construction of the mind to think that I can say one day "let's give this thing, already thinking about what you are going to get in return."

Giving has to be unconditional. You must give from your heart, not from your head. Unconditional love and true giving is done without needing anything in return. Not needing anything in return, creates the experience of having everything you could ever imagine.

Here is a link to an editorial today in the Times by Nicholas Kristof. It talks about a family that sold their house in order to give half the proceeds to charity. The smaller home that they bought has brought the family closer together and changed their lives. They gave and then they received in other ways beyond the material.

There is no doubt that if their intentions continue to be pure, they will be successful in the years to come in both spiritual and material terms. They have inspired others. The more you give, the more you receive.

Give something today. Give it unconditionally and observe what happens next.

My Intention for this Blog

My sincere hope for this blog is to be a source of light for others, to bring them inspiration, hope, happiness, and a new perspective on things.

But overall, I am seeking to remember who I am through writing. I am describing my process as I write. I am interested to "be the difference" in my life as a means to "be the difference" in the lives of others. Thus, my process and that of others are linked. We are one.

As I write these words, I already see my egoic mind hoping to opine on every important issue that faces us as a society. Our ego tends to be defensive, divisive, attacking, critical, judgmental, obsessed with right and wrong, and looking to win debates or expose the weaknesses of others.

My intention here is to accept my ego, but not to feed into it. I choose to write this blog from my heart, from my essence as much as possible, from my soul. I may not be always successful at doing this, but my intentions are pure.

I desire to explore the "big picture" of life through my writing. To shed light on why we are here and where we are going. Of course, all of this will be my own opinion, my unique perspective. I am not speaking for others even though I hope that one day we eventually all speak with one voice.

Thus, all topics are fair game in this blog: spirituality, politics, religion, personal experiences, individual stories, observations and comments, and other forms of creative expression. I will just let it flow and see where it takes me.

Thanks for listening.

Be the Difference

"Be the difference" means that everything we do in life is grounded in presence. In order to "be the difference", we must know ourselves as fully as possible. By knowing ourselves more fully, only then will we be in a position to "be the difference" in the lives of others.

Love of self is love of others and vice versa. We are one. Look inside yourself to the inner peace and the silence that sits at our core. What do you find? What feelings do you sense? What does that space tell you about you? Look closely. Over time, you will connect with the pure consciousness that resides there. Slowly bring that pure consciousness to your daily life. Seek to walk in full awareness. This is our key to "be the difference" in our own lives and as a consequence, in the lives of others. It will allow us to build a more loving society and raise our consciousness to new levels.

So, it starts with you. You are responsible for you, no one else. Be the difference in your life and then be the difference in the lives of those around you. The world changes tomorrow if we follow these simple steps.
